A Smaller Delegation

I have not posted because there is not much to post about. 

Really.

Between Wuhan and Winter Storm Uri?, expectations are kinda low as to what can or cannot happen in Austin. 

But that being said, they still gotta do redistricting.  

And your El Paso House Delegation might lose a member. 

Again, MIGHT.

From 5 members down to 4 members?

Why?

While El Paso IS growing, it is not growing as fast as other parts of the state.

THAT and since the Delegation is made-up of nothing but Democrats, well, I doubt Republicans want to carve up rural Texas anymore than it has to.

So how would this workout?

Well, more than likely, Joe Moody and Mary Gonzalez will be safe because, like Norma Chavez and Marisa Marquez before them, they are tight with House Republican leadership.

So that leaves Art Fierro, Claudia Ordaz and Lina Ortega seats up for the meat grinder.

And it is likely that the districts that both Fierro and Ordaz represent merge thus giving you a potential Fierro vs Ordaz primary match. 

Which in that scenario, the Delegation would likely line-up behind Fierro.

Personally, I do not give two shits. 

If it were up to me, they both would lose, but it ain't up to me. 

So yeah. 

It either might mean last call for Art, or another person job-hunting in the Ordaz-Perez household.
