Who is Writing EPT Endorsements?

Besides the non-endorsement it gave for the Tomatillo-Ordaz race, the El Paso Times endorsement of Pete Buttigieg...what can I say?

I'll just share the highlights:

• "... well-read that he is wise beyond his years."
• "He is a good listener."
• "Buttigieg has packed a lot of life into 38 years."
•  "Buttigieg also is multilingual (including Spanish)..."

What white woman at the El Paso Times wrote this?

That bit in the parenthesis about the Spanish...that is the tell that you know no Hispanic person wrote that editorial. 

And what the fuck is this about being a "good listener" and being "wise beyond his years"?

To the woman who wrote that, I hate to break it to you, but he ain't into you like that.  If I am being honest, I do not blame him. 

The endorsement reads more like a conversation when grils get together at a sleepover talking about the boys in their lives.

Which okay.  I guess. 

But then it undermines EPT's own disclaimer about endorsements:

"This is an editorial: An editorial, like news reporting, is based on objective facts, but shares an opinion."

Pretty sure none of those highlights are based on "objective facts".  Well maybe the about being multilingual is an objective fact, but if we are going to grade his Spanish...

  

 

 

 

Early Voting

How's early voting going in El Paso County?

If a facebook post by your CongressX, Veronica Escobar, is any indication of how it is going, it must going "bad".

She said something about more 80-years old voting than under folks under 30.

I know it is not exactly unusual for old people to vote, but expectations for voter turnout seemed to have suggest a lot higher turnout. 

What does it all mean?

In this case of Vince Perez, I can only imagine low turnout helps as the general rule suggests incumbents benefit from low turnout.

As far as my girl's race, Tomatillo, it is hard to say who exactly benefits since it is an open seat.

You can argue by way of endorsements, Tomatillo, is sort of like an incumbent.  On the other hand, Claudia Ordaz Perez by way of having been an elected official, you could also argue she is also sort of like an incumbent as well.

But if old people are going to deliver the election, I can only imagine that that only helps Tomatillo. 

Remember the accent that some of y'all made fun of, well, that accent suggests English ain't her first language.  And for a lot of olds in El Paso, English ain't their first language either.  Hell, English ain't even their second language because, well, there is no second language. 

I am still sticking to my prediction from way back that it would be close, but Tomatillo pulls it off.   

And I am still sticking to my prediction that Vince wins outright...60+.  

 

 

There's a New Queen Bee in El Paso...

...and it is the same as the old one...Marisa Marquez.

Lately I have been beating up on her consulting firm Forma Group because of stupid decisions made by some of her clients, but after watching the livestream of the Bernie rally, you and I may hate to admit it, but Marquez got raw political talent.  And more than likely, any stupid decisions made by Forma clients is probably due to clients ignoring Forma's advice.

For someone that left the game a few years ago, and went on stage of a rally for the Democratic presidential frontrunner, and deliver a solid speech, you better recognize. 

And if Bernie ends up steamrolling, Marquez is likely to come back into the picture as she was named a Bernie co-chair in Texas. 

And you know that is gonna piss off all electeds in town. 

Weathered-looking Veronica Escobar gonna be all booty hurt when media calls Marquez. 

Sorry, Vero, but not nobody gives two shits about your passable Spanish State of the Union response.  

Cesar Blanco, who endorsed a fellow dwarf in Mike Bloomberg after his previous pick bowed out, is also gonna be all booty hurt.  But he should consider himself lucky.  Cos' he would have been even more booty hurt had Marquez ran for Senate.  Let us not kid ourselves, she would have torn him a new one. 

And even more pissed are gonna be all the local "progressive activists" in El Paso.  

They cannot swallow the fact that Marquez was for Bernie before it was cool.

And. There. Is. Not. A. Damn. Thing. They. Can. Do. About. It.

"Max, why you up Marquez's butt?"

First of all, my ass looks better.    

Secondly, I want Tomatillo to win.  

Thirdly, I ain't voting for the Democratic nominee in the general. 

But game recognize game.  

She has it, and all of her critics don't. 

 

 

 

 

Like a Fine Wine

Switching gears from political bullshit, let us talk about your other favorite topic...ME.

"Max, you are a beautiful man. How do you do it?"

"Max, are you getting younger?"

It is all very confusing. 

Hell, it is confusing for me. 

But I have taken some steps to try to make sense of it all. 

Most recently, I took a test to determine my biological age.  

"What!?!?"

One thing is your chronological age, and the other your biological.

My chronological age is 37, BUT my biological is:

What can I say?

When you are a good soul, such as myself, and you take care of yourself, as I have being doing, you too can age like a fine wine.  

Do not get me wrong. 

I am not exactly content with the results.  There is still room for improvement.  

That being said, I know I am posting this at my own risk.

If Paul Foster or Woody Hunt get wind of this, they are going to want my DNA in order to extend their miserable lives.  I say "miserable" because while they got all the money in the world, it does nothing to prevent their further testicular sagging.  And that shit bothers them every time they hit the showers after tennis or golf.

"I got more money than Max, but he has nicer hair and his balls don't sag....sonofabitch."

So if you do not hear from me again, it is because I am at the basement of the medical school as students are finding ways to extract my DNA at the behest of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to extend the lives and/or recover the lost youth of wealthy donors.  

 

 

 

What the F, Forma? Part Deux

What is going on with Dee Margo?

Dee Margo being a former legislator should know the importance of counting votes before bringing anything to a vote.

But then maybe one-term was not enough to learn that. 

That being said, the folks consulting him, Forma Group, has a much more accomplished former legislator at the helm. 

I would think Marisa Marquez knows a thing or two about counting votes.  

Marquez may be a lot of things, but idiota is not one of them.

I cannot imagine Marquez telling Dee, "If you are not sure if you got the votes, fuck it, just roll with it and see what happens."

That or Dee does not really take advice from women...other than his wife. 

Sure, he has surrounded himself by them. 

He probably though does that just to look at them.

But something is off here.  

I cannot imagine Dee paying people for advice in order to not take it.  

He is not THAT charitable. 

 

 

Las Vegas

I am dumb and do not know any better. 

So I am asking for your help here. 

That picture is of a $2.5 billion proposed project. 

"Uh...Max, that is Dallas."

Well, no shit, Sherlock.

"Why are you talking about Dallas then?"

Well, the group behind this project is De La Vega Development.

The president of that group is Artemio De La Vega. 

My question to you all is - Is that Paul Foster's brother-in-law?

Personally, I think the project is cool, IF they can get high-rises off the drawing board.

Only thing I would bitch about is the low-rise apartments. 

I get it...."It pencils."

But the stick and stucco shit is ugly.

On a related-note, y'all be bitchin' about how Paul Foster sucks the wealth from your community. 

I hate to break  it to you, you guys just do not have that much wealth to leach off of. 

Assuming De La Vega and Paul Foster are connected, I would figure De La Vega would send Jordan-Foster some love.

And then tell me when was the last time El Paso had a billion dollar construction project on the table.

 

 

 

 

What the F, Forma?

So wannabe-State Representative Claudia Ordaz Perez is in the news again because new ethics complaints filed against her.

Okay.

But what I did not get is why is Perez having her attorney speak to the press? 

If these things are political in nature, why bother having an attorney address what is a political matter? 

A simple statement would have sufficed.

But no.

Whether it was her consultants, Forma Group or Jaime Abeytia, or her husband, or maybe herself, someone thought having the attorney talk to the press was the way to go. 

Now, people be like, "Why she hire an attorney?" 

Granted, probably hiring an attorney is a smart move, but it is a move no one really needs to know about.  

Rightly or wrongly, everybody is like, "Perez lawyer-ed-up."

This move got me thinking about Forma's other client...Dee Margo.

Dee MIGHT still have a shot of making it into the run-off. 

But instead of having slick internet ads being produced, Forma appears to be hiring campaign interns on Margo's facebook page. 

Your main opponent is sponsoring parades, while you brag about intern hires. 

What is going on over at Forma-landia?

 

 

 

Texas - We Can Win It For Trump This March.

Primary Early voting is nigh upon us. 

So wut do? 

It is time to help out El Generalissmo Donald-o Trump.  

How you ask?

Well, we gotta vote in the Democratic primary. 

But for who?

Hmmm.

We will not know until a day before election day.  

And the "who" would be any candidate running in 3rd or 4th poll-wise nationally, delegate count and/or statewide polling.

Let the Democratic Party relive its '68 this year.  

So do not go off running to vote during early voting. 

We hold the line until election day.  

But we gotta do it in some serious numbers, numbers so serious there will be some dumbass pundit like, "Wow, look at that turnout in the Texas Democratic primary.  This spells trouble for the Donald in a red state."

Then come November same jerk-off will be like, "Well, I blame Max."

 

Senator Escobar?

Just because I say something it does not necessarily mean I agree with it. 

There are a lot of bad ideas and things out there, but they exist...like margarine or women all of sudden wearing waist high jeans.

But if there is going to be a Democratic US Senator from El Paso, Texas, do not rule out Veronica Escobar. 

Again, I think she is dumb, stoopy and should go away. 

But after years of endearing herself to the party locally, she has in far less time endeared herself to the party nationally.

And she checks off a few boxes...Latina, office holder, party team player, speaks passable Spanish and has a box...see what I did there? 

Which is total opposite of the last asshole from El Paso who ran for US Senate.  

But also unlike the last asshole, Escobar won't run unless she thinks the math is there. 

Not that math needs to be 100 percent,  but it should be 50/50.  

In 2024, after Trump finishes his second term, and Ted Cruz probably bows out, well, I cannot imagine the math getting any better.

If I were y'all, start calling her Senator.  

Me? I will still continue to refer to her as Vero or Mrs. Pleters or what the fuck his name is. 

 

 

 

When The Delegation Sucks

Before I say anything, yes, I donated to Eliza Tomatillo.  

So. There. 

Anyways.

Last night there was a so-called debate between Tomatillo and Claudia Ordaz Perez (COP). 

I am under no illusions about who is the master debater. 

The master debater would be COP.  

Of course, you would hope so too given her time on City Council. 

That being said, while you cannot reasonably expect Tomatillo to debate as well as COP, still she could do a lot better. 

But I put this on the Delegation.  

While members of the Delegation are out blocking-walking with Tomatillo it appears none of them of have taken the time to coach her or run her through some drills. 

COP has Jaime Abeytia to help her fine tune her message. 

Who is helping Tomatillo? 

Cesar has a walk this cycle, and Jose Rodriguez is on his way out, and none of these two motherfuckers can help a sister out? 

Take that back, Jose is probably the last guy you want to take public speaking lessons from. 

If not Jose, well, there is Joe Moody.  

The Delegation clearly does not respect COP.

Which is a problem.

At least respect her as an enemy... a two-term city representative.  

Not that COP is not without her own political faults that she has created herself, but you cannot argue that she is not the more experienced, polished and sharper candidate. 

COP has her base, and while Delegation has its own network.  

The votes are gonna be won at the margins.  

And those are votes that will be lost if Delegation does not help bring Tomatillo up to speed.
