Some - offline - have been kinda surprised at my recent pictures.
Like, "Max, I know you were always HAWT, but how did you get hotter?!?!"
I am paraphrasing.
Well, some of you all that read this blog remember me back when I weighed about 160lbs soaking wet, a few years later having developed a drinking habit, but one that my metabolism could not keep up with, I was closer to 220lbs.
Now, I did many years ago have a personal trainer back before, but he left to finish school.
So from there on out I was going to the gym, but lacked direction and did not feel comfortable finding another trainer...that and afford one.
Like many, I was lost in the gym.
Several years later, just dicking around on Twitter, I came across a workout program that allowed me to start all over.
Slowly, but surely things were changing.
Now, I do not think I am done.
In fact, I will never be "done."
Every time I step into the gym is day to improve.
It is probably one the healthiest habits I have developed.
I have learned more about my body in the process.
For longest time what I thought was "normal" turned out not to be normal. One leg was "shorter" than the other. Whether squatting or using a leg press, I was constantly having to adjust my feet. It turned out over the years I developed a bad posture, which working a chiropractor it is getting adjusted. But I would not have known that without going to the gym.
That is just one example.
Look, you can listen to your elected officials try to resolve issue related to health care or health insurance.
But ultimately, there is no better health care or health insurance policy than the one you can provide yourself.
So if you were like me that you would go to the gym, but were lost...START HERE.
That is one of many programs, and there are programs for women as well.
And yes, I am an affiliate.
Why?
To add another layer of accountability.
So rather than spending your Friday evening at a fundraiser with Cesar Blanco, hit the gym instead.
Your body and mind will thank you later.
