Susie Byrd: Unintended Consequences

If you let your emotions get the best of you, you can end up making a or a lot of decisions you regret.  

Like Susie Byrd.

Susie Byrd's emotions got the best of her. 

In all of this talk about the GAFCON contract, the one consulting group no one is talking about is Forma. 

Why? 

Where is Forma in all of this mess? 

Well, thanks to Susie, Forma is nowhere to be found. 

In fact, Susie had gone out of her way to make sure GAFCON got the contract and not Forma. 

Susie's biggest gripe was that Forma was corrupt.

Which as fate would have it is now her biggest gripe now with GAFCON.  

I guess if Susie's company, Moxie, could not bid, like hell she was going to let Forma win a bid.  

For all we know, Forma was probably a lot cheaper than GAFCON, but because it was Forma Susie did not care about price.  And since it was not her money, well, money was no object.

But now it is all coming to bite her in the ass.

It is a lot worse now.  

Besides being corrupt, the other complaint Susie and others had about Forma was - or is - that Forma is expensive.  

Which may or may not be true.

Just because you cannot afford something does not mean that it is expensive.  

It just means your broke.

But I digress.

In her effort to try squash Forma, others have now entered the consulting game.

For what they charge, they make Susie look expensive.  

This all happened because Susie does not like Forma.

At this point as far as income, Susie is pinning her hopes that Beto does win. 

Because he would be the only won that would hire her at this point. 

She would be like an admin or something.

And even then. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Low Road

Just thinking more about that lawsuit and you realize the kind of person Veronica Escobar really is.

Norma Chavez and company had already withdrawn their lawsuit.  

But for Veronica Escobar that was not good enough. 

Escobar wanted revenge. 

She wanted Chavez and Co. monetarily sanctioned.  

If people were saying Norma was being petty or being a sore loser for suing in the first place, then what does that make Escobar who wanted to enact punishment when the other side withdrew?

Escobar and her crew wanted to see heads on spikes.

But alas, the judge being a neutral arbiter of the law - see what I did there? - did not side with Escobar. 

So in fact Escobar DID lose.  

It was a loss she could have avoided if she were not so petty.

But because most of the folks that work at the El Paso Times are a little on the slow-side, Escobar could turn a legal defeat into victory. 

This should be concerning to you folks. 

And this may explain why Veronica did win like she did.  

I thought it was silly when David K said people feared Escobar. 

But here you had Escobar using the weight of the law to crush her political opponents. 

If Escobar was capable of this, I would not put it past her that she has threatened or had her minions threaten deportation. 

Seriously. 

If there is a silver-lining in all of this is that eventually this all will catch up to Escobar and Co. and when it does it will not be pretty.  

 

 

 

 

Escobar Wins...Again?

The fact that the lawsuit against Veronica Escobar went nowhere is not news.

But what I do think is news is the fact everyone and their grandmother from Escobar's A-Team was there. 

Susie Byrd actually showered and shaved her legs to go to this hearing. 

The soon-to-be Deputy Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Escobar Ruben Vogt was there.

Steve Ortega stopped whatever he was not doing to be there.

Even the County Attorney was there and went toe-to-toe with Norma Chavez. 

It was all a bit odd.

If the lawsuit was bullshit, well, it does seem like a bit of an unnecessary show of force unless you had something to hide or had nothing better to do.  

If this was indeed a bullshit lawsuit, hell, Escobar herself probably would have probably not have even shown up. 

If you start to think about, Beto O'Rourke, who I like and have given money to, 90 percent.  

90 percent.

I do not think even Putin does THAT good.
