If Leeser runs...

...we know what Veronica Esocbar will do.

Or at least I know. 

If you all remember, when Steve Ortega ran for mayor, Escobar wanted Max bad.

She even teased Max about some out-of-court settlements of Leeser's that she wanted to share, but did not. 

More than likely, those settlements will come into play.  

I think they have something to do with sexual harassment, which for Democrats may or may not be a big deal.  It just depends if the Democrat is white like Al Franken or Bill Clinton, or black, like John Conyers.  

But I digress.

The problem with Escobar's plan?

Besides the fact that Escobar pals around with Jaime Abeytia, who is not exactly a champion of women?

Well, Escobar likely went out of her way to kiss Leeser's ass despite those alleged settlements.  

I am sure Leeser has letters and text messages from Escobar that show friendly Escobar was to him. 

And then there is the fact that if Escobar knew about this the whole time, why did not she let the public know sooner?  

I do not how she can explain that one without looking self-serving.  

 

 

 

 

Veronica Escobar - Help Wanted

Veronica Escobar is supposed to be your next Congresswoman.  

She's been around for a while, she loves all the right causes, and she's brown.  

But can she blow it? 

I have said for a while she can because knowing her and her inability to delegate she can blow this election. 

Escobar is a micromanager, and while that might be okay for running for city council or school board trustee, it is not good for running in a congressional primary. 

Say what you want about, Dori Fenenbock, but at least she is more organized, and she is making the most of her campaign cash. 

Meanwhile, Escobar is in heels wondering aimlessly in the Lower Valley knocking on doors.  

Her amateur antics could potentially scare off any friendly super PAC if these PACs suspect she does not know what she is doing.  

Like that Carlos Sierra story in the El Paso Times. 

If I am on Team Escobar, I would not want that story to run in the first place.  But I am almost certain Escobar's PR person, likely Escobar herself, pushed that story.  Why give air time to people that you want to bring you down?   To expose them?  Best thing you can do is have the media ignore them. 

You're probably thinking that even with all these tactical mistakes, Escobar still has the advantage. 

But here's the problem, Escobar is known from time-to-time to crack under pressure.    And micromanaging her campaign is putting immense pressure on her.  She has lost her shit with me via email and on Twitter.  She will crack.  The question is will she crack in the privacy of her own home or will she crack where there is a camera around. 

 

 

 

 

 

Giving Thanks

It has been a while, but I have been busy with my day job...which oddly enough Susie Byrd seems to be curious about as she stalks me on LinkedIn.

But I digress.

I figure though I ought to make time to let you know what I am grateful for with Thanksgiving around the corner.

Here we go:

• President Donald Trump: We really dodged bullet there last November.  So far Trump has been great.  
• Felipe VI of Spain: Stepped up when his nation, our ancestral nation, needed him most.  
• Petunia: She's an English Bulldog that has been part of the family for 11 years.  If you know anything about bulldogs, you know 11 is a big phucking deal.  But Father Time is finally catching up with her.  Just grateful that she has been around that long, as much as it hurts, I will make sure she does not suffer. 
• Marijuana: While in Mexico visiting my aunt, my grandmother busted ass and fractured her shoulder.  She starts physical therapy soon, and has been taking pain pills, but apparently they do not work as good as edibles, which actually let my grandmother sleep.  
• Zahira Torres: She's not Bob Moore.  

I'll be back next week assuming I do not have an urgent appointment with God.

How Torres Will Be Different

Bob Moore leaving the El Paso Times is probably the best thing to happen to the El Paso Times since its competitor folded a while ago.

Sure, the paper will still be friendly to a certain political faction.

But it will not be as friendly.

You see, Moore, like David Crowder, had some strong crushes on female elected officials. 

These elected officials knew it, and used it to their advantage.

Moore had the paper run certain stories as way to impress his crushes.

Worse still, Moore thought these stories would give him a shot at them. 

Life for Moore was very sad.

Middle-aged, overweight, and spending weekends pouring your heart and soul in supporting a minor league time, just getting an email from certain elected officials was a reprieve.  It offered a chance to dream, "If Valenti can do it, why can't I?

With Zahira?

As an accomplished woman in her own right, she is not looking to impress other women.

Sure, those who had Moore basically run their direct mail campaign will try a new angle with the new editor..the "Hermana" angle. 

Some faux-Latina sisterhood bullshit. 

But Torres is too smart to bite.  At least I assume she is. 

 

UTEP Football - Fourth and Phuck It

UTEP should kill its football program.

Forget spending the time and money searching for a new head coach. 

If UTEP wants to be bold, just get rid of the damn thing. 

The future of football for UTEP has not been any bleaker. 

A losing season aside.

A shitty conference aside.

Kneeling aside.

Even parents are thinking twice about putting their children in football. 

So why bother?

If Diana Natalicio wants to make a name for herself, here is her opportunity.

In state that loves football, what D-1 school, one university president said, "Fuck it."
