Escobar Fallout?

Between going out-of-country later this week and the upcoming Labor Day weekend, posting will be light. 

That being said, before I go, there is something interesting happening in El Paso. 

It appears County Judge Veronica Escobar is losing critical support.

Most recently, political consultant/independent journalist Jaime Abeytia has come out against Escobar.   Which to be honest, should not be surprising.  This is not the first time, nor will it be the last time, Abeytia was solidly in the tank for someone, but then turned on him or her. 

So what happened?

Well, Abeytia recently called Escobar a "witch".

Now, I know Escobar has given herself two pay raises as County Judge, and she gave you a bankrupt Children's Hospital, but even then, I do not think she is a witch. 

 

 

 

 

What Escobar Wants You To Believe

Yours truly submitted an open records request to County Judge Veronica Escobar regarding any and all correspondence concerning official county business between her and El Paso Children's Hospital board Member Ted Houghton sent either via email or text message.

Well, I did not get any text messages.

Why?

Because per Assistant County Attorney Holly Lytle, "Because there were no text messages responsive to your request".

In other words, Escobar and Houghton never ever text each other about county business. 

Never.
