Abortion or "reproductive rights" is a woman's issue.
Which makes recent local events regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling on Texas' abortion law kinda interesting.
State Senator Jose Rodriguez, State Representative Mary Gonzalez and two-time failed political candidate, Lyda Ness, held a rally celebrating the recent ruling
Why is that interesting?
Because of who was not there.
And no, I am not talking about out-going State Representative Marisa Marquez.
I am talking about State Representative-elect Lina Ortega.
Ortega is a woman unlike Rodriguez.
But she was not there. Either she was not invited or she was too busy.
Then there was the El Paso Times article on the whole thing.
It had quotes from State Representatives Joe Moody, and Cesar Blanco.
But nothing from Lina.
Again, Lina, unlike Moody and Blanco, is a woman.
I have heard that support for Lina's candidacy was kinda a favor owed. In other words, nobody really liked her, they just felt that they owed her.
And now that the favor has been paid...
