Back when UMC and El Paso Children's Hospital reached a tentative agreement where UMC would write-off $40 million, your County Judge, Veronica Escobar, dismissed the write-off as "soft costs" in an interview with El Paso Inc.'s David Crowder.
But now that EPCH has filed for bankruptcy Escobar is outraged.
If it is all "soft costs", then why the outrage over EPCH's filing?
Escobar criticized EPCH's leadership for poor-decision making, but maybe Escobar made a poor-decision by opening up her mouth dismissing EPCH's liabilities as "soft costs", hence probably why EPCH did not list UMC as a creditor.
Way to go, Escobar.
Seriously, way to go.
