As the legislative session in Austin draws to a close, freshman State Rep. Cesar Blanco will find out that his biggest challenge is not trying to pass a bill, but trying to get a job.
Prior to being a legislator, Blanco was making six-figures as a congressional aide.
More than likely, Blanco during the interim (after the close of session) will try to milk his per diem allowance for all that it is worth. There's nothing illegal about it. milking a per diem is something of legislative past-time for El Paso legislators.
The only difference is that other El Paso legislators did not have champagne tastes like Blanco.
