Why I Would Not Be Surprised If Wendy Davis Wins

I will say I am not necessarily a fan of Wendy Davis' politics.  Although recently she did do right and showed she had more business-sense than Attorney General Abbott by backing the American Airlines-US Airways merger.    Apparently the AG believes airlines should fly unprofitable routes (Who's the socialist now?).  

Anyways.

Does she have an uphill mountain to climb? Hell yeah she does. 

But she has shown that she has the balls to make that climb...unlike those two pansies in San Antonio.

That's why she could win.  The election will be more about her than her politics. 

In some ways she kinda represents what conservatism is about.  She was a teen when she got pregnant, but she kept it (irony not lost on me).  She worked her ass to get through college while raising a family (she didn't take 40 years unlike someone we know).  If that were not enough, still she worked, raised a family and commuted to Harvard Law.  Talk about doing something with your life and pulling yourself by the bootstraps.  Unlike someone else in the race, she did not sue her way to success (yes, I said that).   She would honestly make for a great Republican if she moderated some of her politics.

Despite that story, from now until the election the polls will show that she sucks.  

So why does she have a chance?

Women. 

Even the most conservative-minded woman will think twice when she votes.  

Again, most voting Texas women will not like her politics, but they will like what she has done for herself.   It is at that very moment when it is time to make that selection on the ballot that women that would have normally voted for a Republican will vote for a Democrat.  

 

 

Happy Birthday, Marisa Marquez!!!

Today Tomorrow (viernes) is Marisa Marquez's birthday.  

There ain't nobody more deserving of a spanking in this town than Marquez. 

 

Only one is tappable sober.

Granted, she is kinda of a liberal, but whatever.  But she don't get in drunken wrecks.  She finished her college degree without asking anybody to pick up the tab.  She has inspired fat people like Norma Chavez to lose weight.    She didn't carpet bag or munch her way to office.   And she didn't run on a relative's name.

We finally have someone in office that we can respect and beat our meat to.  But for some jerkoffs that ain't good enough.   Well, they can go have intercourse with themselves.

Joe Moody Reads Max

I thought I was minding my own business yesterday evening having a few drinks at a bar, but then Joe Moody shows up.  

Maybe I did not get the memo or something, but the bar was hosting a fundraiser for Moody.  

A while back I wrote about what Joe Moody needed to do to become really good-looking.  

He needed to lose weight.  Which he has.

He needed to ditch his glasses.  Which it looks like he has.  His googles were gone last night.  He is looking more like a gentleman less like a band teach at La High. 

But that was not the best part of the evening.  The best part was Marisa Marquez and her rack were at Moody's event.  If Marquez were to have an opponent, all she needs to do is drop a mailer of her rack and game over.  

My faux ex-girlfriend Naomi Gonzalez was there.  And last, but 90 percent least, Cesar Blanco was also at this bar. 

Notably absent...Norma Chavez.  Thank God.  The heifer would be knocking shit over.  

It is kinda suprising to see Marquez and Gonzalez at a Moody event, or at least that is what we are supposed to think.  But Moody did recognize them both and thanked them.  He seemed genuine about it.  

I was kinda disappointed that Naomi did not chat me up after all we have been through together, but I it's like what Eminem said, "Bicthes they come, they go."   C'est la vie.

I am rambling now, but the lesson here is to make sure in advance the bar you go to is NOT hosting some political fundraiser...unless Marquez's rack happens to be there.   Otherwise it will be a very boring affair.  

 

 

 

 

 

The Texas Tribune Finally Does HD-76

The Texas Tribune published its story about Naomi Gonzalez's race.

Did we learn anything new?

Well, we learned that Norma Chavez still likes to text.  Yes, she actually texted the Tribune's reporter for this story.  I guess that old trick will never learn a new dog.  Or is it old dog, new trick? 

Eh.

What is interesting is how Cesar Blanco is only 90 percent there.  

You either run or you don't.

You either file or you don't.

You  either don't and you don't (I just pulled a Rumsfeld).

Here is something for Blanco.  If you have X amount days until the filing deadline, how many days will it take for you to get  to 100 percent?

 

 

Diana Natalicio's Wet Dream Dries Up

A while back I blogged about Diana Natalicio's wet dream.  She bascially wanted to recreate a Bhutanese mountain forest in the middle of the desert.  This of course would require sucking half of El Paso dry.

Lo and behold, Natalicio was planning on doing just that.

Natalicio thinks water grows on trees.   But she nevers spends any time in UTEP's science departments to know otherwise.  

Thanks though to the folks at the Public Service Board - you know, people who know something about water - Natalicio's wet fantasy is on hold.

PSB, and rightfully so, does not want to fork over several million to needlessly irrigate UTEP.  

 

 

 

Veronica Escobar's Opponent (Supposedly): Aliana Apodaca

So there is an Apodaca that is going to run against The Honorable Veronica Escobar.

I thought it was Mike Apodaca.  The fat phucker is always up to no good. 

But no, I was wrong.

It is a one Aliana Apodaca.

She is some sort of "motivational speaker".  

She claims per her website that some of her clients include: 

• City of El Paso;
• The University of Texas at El Paso; and
• University Medical Center.

That's just a few of her clients.

But those few that were mentioned are all subject to Open Records Requests.  With an ORR, we could see what exactly Aliana did and how much she charged. 

If Aliana's message is one about protecting taxpayers, well, she could do taxpayers a big one by not seeking taxpayer money to help fund her business.  

I'm just saying. 

Socorro ISD Up To No Good

You all know the City of Socorro.

The city that gave us a drug dealer for a mayor (Aside: That's the last time I am gonna be suckered into believing there is money in recycling).  Not to mention all the other sheningans that have taken place since then at City Hall and the Whataburger.

Well, it isn't just restricted to Socorro City Hall.  It's also over at Socorro ISD.

Apparently, Socorro ISD trustees do not like transparency. 

They do not want people to know how they make a living.  I am sure a former mayor of Socorro wished the same thing. 

To be fair, it is not just restricted to Socorro.  The stupid or the incomptent or potentially corrupt, you pick it, is also alive and well in Canutillo. 

State Representative Marisa Marquez (El Paso - DD) and State Senator Jose Rodriguez (D - Nuts) passed a rather common sense bill.  Just as Marquez and Rodriguez have to submit personal financial reports to the Texas Ethics Commission, you know, to make sure our legislators are on the up and up, they thought given all the corruption occuring in El Paso locally, it might be a good idea for school board trustees to do they same.  

But nooooooooooooooooooooo.

Seeing how the Canutillo and Socorro have reacted to this new law, which the entire El Paso Delegation voted "for",  you would think that they too are selling copious amounts of ganja.

Now that is not to say some school board Trustee...I don't know, let's make up a name, Barmando Sodriguez....Barmando Sodriguez would list as income illicit pharmaceutical sales.  But if Sodriguez only reports $30,000 on his personal financial statement, but drives a Ferrari, well, then you know something is up.  

The bullshit excuse is that it is a "financial burden" to school districts.

All what the ISDs have to do to is go to the Texas Ethics Commission website and copy and paste the Commission's form and put it on ISD letterhead.  Barmando Sodrigeuz spends less than an hour filling it out, and submits the form to X ISD for them to file.  Ta-da!

But no. 

Your trustees do not trust you apparently.  And they do not what you voters to know how much they earn or how they earn it.
