Oh, I remember during the campaign, state representative-elect-again Joe Moody criticized Margo for voting for cuts in education (never mind the fact Moody has never proposed where to get the money from to offset the cuts).
Now we get news from the El Paso Times that Tornillo ISD Superintendent Paul Vranish is on leave. The State has been investigated Mr. Varnish regarding "questionable expenditures."
Folks, again, I will say this. Your schools will not get any more money if even with the alleged small amounts your schools are getting, you all cannot run the schools without some sort of investigation happening. Your superintendents are going to Austin asking for money. I cannot blame a Tea Party Republican legislator from East Texas looking at an El Paso-area super like he or she is crazy when they come to ask for money because it is "for the children."
To be fair it is not only the superintendents who are at fault. Complacent schools boards and electorate share some blame. And, yes, teachers associations, do too. Don't worry teachers associations I will have a post just about how you all are greedy. For realz. That is though for another time because I'm already gettting exhausted by the thought of it, but then again teachers associations are exhausting.
