I am not going to tell you anything more that you did not already know about Carlos Sierra.
It is not like Sierra is that good. One of his clients - Leeser - would have won with him or without him. Another one of his clients - Aliana Apodaca - would have lost with him or without him. Then there is Mike Armstrong.
But it appears Sierra is good enough, or bad enough, to be taken down a peg or more publicly.
More than likely though the El Paso Times was not necessarily investigating Carlos Sierra. After all, Carlos is not running for office, and bullshit is par for course in political consulting.
What likely happened was that the Shapleighistas fed this to the El Paso Times. By "Shapleighistas", I mean Veronica Escobar. O'Rourke, the best looking man in Congress, is too busy doing important shit to be bothered with this petty stuff. Susie Byrd is just happy to be here. And Ortega is having the time of his life now.
Escobar has been in the headlines recently, but not necessarily for all the good reasons - Children's Hospital. So what better way to make people forget about that sort of thing than by giving them scandalous legal details of a political consultant who works for all the people you do not like?
That's fine. That is after all politics.
BUT then there is policy.
Escobar's protégé, Vince Perez, hired someone just as slimy as Carlos Sierra, Jaime Abeytia. The difference though is that you do not pay for Carlos Sierra, you do though pay for Jaime Abeytia.
