What? Max Powers Has An Opinion?

A recent comment from "THE AWFUL TRUTH" stated, "You showed potential in the LionStar blog comments section. Now I think you are a big an ass sniffer as he was. Suck up to power, maxie pad."

Now, now.  What is exactly wrong with a "maxie pad"?  

But I digress.

There is a difference between the LionStar and I.  Besides he having a gazillion readers, he tried really hard to be objective, even though he was not.  I am not pretending to be objective.  He tried to be a one-man news organization, I am not.  

Regarding, me sucking up to "power", I am sure you, "THE AWFUL TRUTH", watch sports.  As a sports fan, there are teams you pull for.  Politics is no different.  I guess you thought we both were pulling for the same "teams" in politics.

I have never met Beto.   Beto does not know me.  I do NOT want to meet him personally.  The closest to Beto I have been is that I have seen him at some forums though throughout his career, from City Council to the congressional campaign.  So try to connect as many dots as you can.

I did not really care for Beto when he first started his political career.  He was too close to Shapleigh for my tastes, but as time went on you can see Beto could stand on his own two feet.  Beto was on his own when ankle-biters tried to recall him.   Beto was on his own when he came out against the Drug War.  Beto was on his own when he took on an incumbent Congressman in a primary.

I do not want to hear this non-sense about his father-in-law.  Incumbent Congressmen rarely lose, and Bill Sanders cannot magically appear in voting booth with Norma Chavez and convince her to vote for Beto.  

Now, "THE AWFUL TRUTH", if you can make a case why you think Beto is not totally awesome, then I am all ears.  Please post.   I am interested in what you have to say.  

I will say though I do find it odd that nobody in this town is called out for worshipping the Clintons, Obama or the Castros.  But when some anonymous blogger says some nice things about our Congressman, "YOU'RE DOIN' IT WRONG!!! YOU CANT LIKE HIM!!! EL ES UN GRINGO RICO CHINGON.  NO ME GUSTA EXITO!!!  YO SOY MUY CELOSO!  SU HIJOS SON MAS LINDOS QUE MIOS.  MIJO ES MUY FEO Y GORDO!!!"

Gee, Max. I didn't know you were being paid for your comments so they would be unbiased! I thought this was YOUR blog and you can root for whomever you wish. Silly me.

As for "The Awful Truth", he or she is "The Awful A$$".
